About me

Konrad Kowalik

Functional naturopathic consultant

I'm not a doctor and I don't pretend to be one. I look at your results differently than a clinic does: I look for the mechanism, not a label to write in your file. I work online, with people in Poland and the UK, in English and Polish.

I do this because my father is gone

A heart attack. Polycythemia that made his blood so thick they had to drain it. Angioplasty. Drugs. More drugs. And then the end.

Through all of his treatment, nobody ever sat down with him and told him what was actually happening inside his body. Nobody asked what he ate. Nobody mentioned the sugar quietly wrecking his metabolism. The seed oils packed into almost everything on the shelf today. The grains. The sun, the contact with the ground, plain clean water instead of coloured drinks. He got a prescription for the next symptom and went home. Just as sick at the root, only with one more pill.

I can't unsee that.

That's when I saw something I'd refused to accept before. This stopped being about caring for the person a long time ago. Nobody makes money off a healthy one.

My first lesson came much earlier

It all started with my brother. I was thirteen the first time he took me to the gym, and I'm grateful to him to this day. He showed me training and he showed me food. And we had good things to work with. At home there was unpasteurised milk straight from the cow, real cheese, every now and then half a pig sorted from the countryside. We ate the way people had eaten for generations, before anyone talked us into believing fat and meat were the enemy.

It pulled me in completely. I read a whole cupboard of magazines on training and nutrition, one after another. I was fifteen and advising men in their thirties, some in their forties, who'd been training as long as they could remember. I didn't know yet that this was the start of a road I'd walk for the rest of my life.

Then there was my mother's aunt. She lived to almost a hundred. Sharp to the end, on her own two feet, with a mind clearer than many a thirty-year-old. She didn't win the genetic lottery. She simply chose, every single day of her life, what served her body, and she watched what went on in her head.

She showed me something it took me a long time to name. The way you live today decides what kind of body you wake up in thirty years from now. I'd been walking that road long before it became my work. And when my father died, it all came together into one thing.

"Everything's within range" is the most common sentence that lies to you

I know it from hundreds of conversations. You wake up with no energy, even though you slept eight hours. You gain weight even though you eat less than you ever have. You've got fog in your head, you crash in the afternoon, your hair stays behind on the brush. You take it to the clinic. Someone glances at one result, looks at the clock and says: everything's within range.

Except "the range" is an average drawn from a population that is, for the most part, already metabolically sick. Being "within range" only means it isn't officially bad yet. That isn't the same as health. And it isn't your fault that you feel awful while the paperwork says you're fine. The fault is with a system that looks at one number and never has time to look at you.

The cult of the lab "normal". Seven-minute medicine. A prescription factory that lives off you coming back. An industry that first sells you the food that breaks your health, then the pill for the consequences. That's what I disagree with. Not the people in white coats, but the model that silences the symptom and never asks why.

What I do, and what I don't

Treatment, medication and diagnoses I leave to doctors. That's their role and only they can order them. I don't step into it and I never pretend to be someone I'm not.

I deal with what you usually never hear about in a clinic. I sit down with your bloodwork and read it as a whole, not five markers glanced over. I explain what it means, in plain language. And I map out one direction built around your biochemistry: how to eat, how to supplement, how to live so your body recovers at the source, instead of just silencing a signal for a moment. It took me years of reading, getting it wrong and drawing conclusions. I want to make that road shorter for you.

Who this is for, and who it isn't

This is for the person who's had enough of being brushed off and is ready to take responsibility for what lands on their plate. Who wants to understand their body, not just get another piece of paper.

It isn't for someone looking for a miracle pill instead of changing their habits. If what you want is a quick prescription and to be left alone, let's not waste each other's time.

I don't preach anything I don't live myself

I've been with my partner for years and we have two children. Before they came into the world, I didn't leave it to chance. I went into the subject of pregnancy as deeply as into any other: preparing the future mother's body, nutrition through the whole pregnancy, and then feeding the child from the first days. I had to become an expert in it, because it was my own family, and I still do it to this day. We raise our children by exactly what I teach here, because health begins in the first years of life, not in a clinic after forty. That same knowledge is now becoming my course on children's health. I do what I live every day. This isn't a nine-to-five job for me. It's the way I see the world.

My approach

Holistic, but driven by data

01

I read the data, not the labels

First I sit down with the whole picture. Your bloodwork, your history, how you sleep, what you eat, what stresses you. I look for where the mechanism actually sits, not which disease name to file you under.

02

A plan for you, not off a template

No one-size-fits-all. I match food and supplements to your results and to your life, not to some internet average. You get specifics: how much, in what form, when and why.

03

I walk you through the process

I don't disappear after one conversation. I watch how your body responds and adjust the plan when it needs adjusting. It changes over time, and that's exactly how it should be.

04

I teach you to stand on your own

In the end it comes down to one thing: that you stop needing me. I explain it for as long as it takes until you understand what you're doing with your own body, and why.

What you won't hear from me

Your results are within range, nothing's wrong with you

It's psychological, not physical

Eat less, move more

Buy this one magic supplement

All that matters is calories and macros

What you will hear from me

Let's see what your results actually say

Let's start with the basics: gut, liver, hormones

This symptom has a cause, let's find it

Your body is sending signals, learn to read them

We'll build a plan that fits you

Normal isn't health

This is the moment to start

You don't want to be "within range". You want to feel good again, to have energy from the morning, and to understand what's happening inside your body. If something in you is saying "finally, someone named it", let's start.
